On January 7, 2025, the Eaton fire took everything — our home in Altadena, thirty years of memories, all of it. Gone in a day.
So we drove. My wife Sweetie and I loaded up and crossed 44 states and 3 Canadian provinces. We met strangers who became family overnight. Shared meals with people who had nothing and people who had everything. Listened to stories that broke our hearts and put them back together bigger.
Somewhere on that road, the Brilliant Bridge stopped being an idea and became a calling. Not someday. Now.
We came back to Los Angeles and incorporated the Brilliant Bridge Institute — a 501(c)(3) dedicated to community, education, and mutual nourishment through creative arts, free communal meals, and cultural programming.
